Programme overview:
This programme is positioned at the interface between art, design, and the physical, natural and social sciences, which comprises a wide range of activities from landscape and environmental planning to integrated urban development. Our main research directions include (1) Planning and Design of Landscape Architecture, (2) Garden Plants and Germplasm Innovation, (3) Landscape Architecture Engineering and Technology, and (4) Architecture and Urban Design. The main courses include History and Theory of Landscape Architecture, Landscape Planning and Design, Plant Application and Technology, Advances in Ecological Research, Landscape Engineering Technology, Landscape Ecology, Architecture and Urban Design, Plant Landscape Planning and Design, etc. Students will gain in-depth knowledge and skills integrating aesthetic, ethical, ecological, economic and social aspects to provide solutions for challenges, for example, sustainable development in the context of growing urbanisation, demographic change, loss of biodiversity and climate change.

This programme provides broad research training in ecology, evolution and conservation with great focus on fundamental concepts, theory, and their application to conservation and biodiversity science. It is intended to ready postgraduate students for future practical implementation in the fields ranging from ecological restoration, road ecology, water resource, to applications in conservation and environmental biology. Our main research directions include (1) Soil Improvement and Pollution Remediation, (2) Plant Resistance Physiology and Ecology, (3) Ecological Garden Planning and Design, and (4) Environmental Conservation of Surface Water. The main courses include Plant Physiology and Ecology, Landscape Planning and Design, Ecotoxicology, Plant Biotechnology, Principles and Methods of Soil Remediation, etc. Students will gain in-depth knowledge and skills to tackle problems and will graduate ready for a career as professionals in a wide range of sectors.
